The Characters
Carson Washington (19)
Think Ben Wyatt from Parks and Recreation meets Ross from Friends with some of the more pureness of Sam from Ted Lasso.
A freshman at Northwestern University double majoring in Economics and German and minoring in Catholic Studies.
He planned on studying abroad this summer, but when the program fell through, he found his calling to be a general counselor for Timberland, or at least, that’s the surface level story. Really, Carson has a girlfriend from high school, and they are the kind of couple that’s straight ready to get married tomorrow as teenagers. The plan was for both of them to study abroad and meet in Europe on the weekends, but when Carson’s trip was cancelled, he found camp. Carson struggles with both his internet connections and his intentions as he lives through camp and realizes he’s maybe tying himself down to his relationship too quickly. He also struggles with generally adjusting to the job.
Carson is the kind of person that would blend in nicely to any crowd, and somewhat prefers that, except his harder opinions often set him apart in a way.

Casting Inspiration: Caleb McLaughlin
Allison “Alli” Paralari (19)
Alli is a sweetheart. Think Avery from A Week Away, Nini from High School Musical the Musical the Series, Annie from Community. While she’s sweet and kind, she also has a more jealous side, but her struggle is to never let it out in an attempt to always appear cheery and on top of her emotions.
She is a sophomore with an undecided major at University of Miami, though she has interest in their marine conservation program.

Over the season, Alli struggles with holding the group together. She develops a crush on Carson that she can't pursue because he's taken, and she overworks herself to compensate.
This is Alli's first year working at Timberland camps, but she was a camper here herself, so she knows how the camp runs.

Casting Inspiration: Olivia Rodrigo
Liam Peck (19)
Andy from Parks and Recreation but smarter. Jake from Brooklyn 99 but a little more put together.
Liam is a junior at the University of Michigan majoring in Business and minoring in Political Sciences.
Liam is a general counselor, and he is most excited to "raise some crazy kids and make sure they remember this summer for the rest of their lives!" In his free time, Liam is a big fan of ultimate frisbee, playing basketball with his buddies, and playing euchre. When asked for a fun fact he would say, "Facts aren't fun, but opinions are. I think that Bernese Mountain Dogs are the best breed of dog. And that's a fact".
Liam isn’t afraid to bend the rules to make things more fun and interesting.

Casting Inspiration: Cameron Boyce
Blake Pinto (20)
Think Rosa from Brooklyn 99 but less violent and more sarcastic. She’s Jim from The Office pilot--seemingly uninterested in most things, and she’s Max from 2 Broke Girls.
She is a sophomore at Albion College currently undecided about her major.
When asked why she decided to work at Timberland Camps this summer, she said, "It would be funny", which really encompasses her character. She’s not a fan of kids, and she hates getting up early, so the question around her is ‘why is she here?’ to which she will not give you a straight answer.
Blake works as a harness sports counselor because she claims she doesn’t have a fear of heights though she may not know how high those heights are.
What Blake knows about kids, however, comes from her understanding that kids sometimes just need you to tell it to them straight. She doesn’t sugarcoat, and she doesn’t play pretend.

Casting Inspiration: Rowan Blachard
Shachi Patel (20)
Think Leslie from Parks and Recreation, always on top of her shit and always ready to do more. However, she replaces Leslie's genuine positivity with a cynical undertone that only shows up when kids aren't around.
She is a sophomore, also at the University of Michigan, and she is undecided about her major.
Shachi is a general counselor, and because it's her second year at camp, Robin really looks to her to be a leader, which is a pressure she is constantly aware of.

Shachi is more than happy to join any camp shenanigans, but she also keeps in mind that this is her job. She protects it like a mama bear because camp has become her home. Her motivations come strongly from her need to feel in control and competent.

Casting Inspiration: Maitreyi Ramakrishnan
Owen Dee (26)
Coach Beard from Ted Lasso meets Boyle from Brooklyn 99--quieter, but really dorky and invested in everyone when he opens up.
He graduated from Purdue University, and is looking around to do his residency.
He is the resident nurse on camp and works in and out of the infirmary. He also lives in the infirmary during the summer, so this job and his life are one at the moment.
Owen has been working in the infirmary on camp for 3 years now, and his favorite part is seeing campers with daily medications and hearing about their days. His favorite story is once when a kid came up to him with his counselor, and said nothing was wrong, but his counselor told Owen that the camper had just told him he was feeling bad. When Owen asked him why he was here again, the camper said he just wanted to stop by and tell Owen hi. He’s that kind of sweet and attentive.

Casting Inspiration: Justin H. Min
Robin Minna (27)
Think Dana from Superstore, Dwight from The Office, and Rebecca from Ted Lasso.
She is the director of the upper-elementary side of camp, aka, the Big Timbs.
Robin grew up in and around camp, and currently lives here all year round to continue to run things.
In her limited free time, Robin likes to go on runs and visit the archery and rifle ranges. She essentially likes to do anything that can let out the bottled frustration and stress that she is dealt on the daily. It's a hard job running half the camp, and while she does it well, she has to deal with so much shit, it would drive anyone up the wall.
Robin and Kelly are twins.

Casting Inspiration: Caitlin Reilly
Kelly Minna (27)
Think Chris from Parks and Recreation.
She is the director of the lower-elementary side of camp, aka, the Lil' Timbs.
Kelly grew up in and around camp, and currently lives here all year round to continue to run things.
In her limited free time, Kelly likes to meditate, do yoga, and go swimming in the lake. Unlike her sister, Kelly has really mastered the art of taking a breath. It's a shame our counselors don't get to deal with someone more patient like her every day.
Kelly and Robin are twins.

Asher Minna (12)
Think every troublesome kid in every Disney show where the characters are put in charge of a large group of kids for some reason. If Jim from The Office wasn’t bogged down with mundane work and a drama-filled love life. If Jake from Brooklyn 99 was held to no professional standards. If you took any child and gave them the key to a water park and said ‘go nuts’. The power. The freedom. The God Complex. That’s Asher.
He’s the younger brother of the camp directors, Robin and Kelly, and lives on camp. He has become quite the expert at running things, and sometimes that power can go to his head.
In his free time, Asher loves to hang out on the high ropes courses, so he and Blake are to be acquainted nicely.
